Woman declared guilty of keeping Delta’s flight from New York to Paris

A federal jury has condemned Svetlana Dali for keeping Delta to Paris last November after passing through security in a lane reserved for crew members and ignoring the door agents by mixing with boarding passengers.
Dali had been accused of a federal count of Stowaway to board a Delta flight during the night from the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City on November 26, 2024, and travel to the Paris-Chales de Gaulle airport in France without having a ticket. He had declared himself innocent.
A Federal Jury of Brooklyn found its guilt on Thursday.

Dali, a Russian and permanent resident of the United States who lived more recently in Philadelphia, took the position of the witnesses during the brief judgment. He admitted that he did not have a boarding pass when he walked towards the flight.
Instead, he said he walked to “where people were addressing the flights and then entered the plane.”
Dali said he stayed in the bathroom “almost the duration of the flight, almost from the beginning to the end.”
The judge did not establish a sentence date. Its range of judgment guidelines is zero to six months in prison. She has already been in custody for more than five months.

In this still from the video, Svetlana Dali is seen through the door attendees in the back of a large group of people. Dali, who faces the camera, carries a gray hoodie and wears a green backpack and a black bag.

In a video obtained by ABC News, Dali can be seen walking to the B38 door at terminal 4, while other passengers have their shipping passes and verified passports for the Paris flight. After attendees at the door helped a separate group of customers and took them to the plane bridge, Dali followed him immediately, shows the video.
Dali was finally seen by Delta employees before the plane landed in France, according to the FBI complaint. The complaint declared that Dali could not provide a boarding pass and that once the plane landed, the French police would not allow him to pass the customs area.
The authorities tried to send Dali back to the United States on another flight shortly after, but Dali was removed from the plane after insisting against his return.
He was finally brought back to New York to face charges. During an interview with the FBI on his return, Dali, according to the reports, admitted to having flown as a Stowaway and declared that he did not have a plane ticket and that he intentionally evaded the security officials of the TSA and Delta’s employees to be able to travel without buying one, according to the complaint.
After being released from custody in early December 2024, Dali allegedly cut off the ankle monitor and traveled to Buffalo, where he tried unsuccessfully to cross the peace bridge in Canada on a bus on December 16, 2024. She has been in custody since then.
Following the JFK incident, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration said that a review had been carried out and, as a result, “there are now additional security measures.”
“TSA’s security measures are always evolving to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again,” said the spokesman.
