Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who directed the US delegation in Jeddah, said that the proposal of Alto El Fuego will be delivered to Russia “directly through multiple channels.”
“The offer is to stop the shooting. The objective here is that the only way out to finish this war is to negotiate it. There is no military solution for this war,” Rubio said during the comments to journalists in Jeddah after the conversations. “Before you can negotiate, you have to stop shooting at each other. And that is what [President Donald Trump] He wanted to see, and that is the commitment we obtained today on the Ukrainian side, his willingness to do it, obviously. “
“Our hope is that the Russians say yes,” Rubio added, saying: “The ball is now on its court.”
If Russia says no, “then unfortunately we will know what the peace impediment is here,” he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine “accepts this proposal and considers that it is a positive step.”
“We are ready to take this step, and the United States must now convince Russia to do the same,” he said in a statement. “If Russia agrees, the high fire will come into force immediately.”
“Ukraine is ready for peace. Now, Russia must decide if you are ready to end or continue the war. It is a full honesty time,” he added.
Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia, said in a statement after the conversations: “Protecting Ukraine’s interests is our highest priority. A fair peace is key to us. We want peace. Thank you for a constructive meeting.”
After the conversations, the Russian Foreign Minister Maria Zakharova, told the state news agency Tass that Russia does not rule out contacts with US representatives in the coming days.
American and Ukrainian officials met in Jeddah for more than eight hours with the aim of drawing a course to end the three -year war in Russia, and after weeks of fraying between Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy.
The two parties frame Tuesday’s conversations as a way to restore bilateral relations after the explosive oval office meeting last month between Trump, Zelenskyy and vice president JD Vance. The confrontation led Trump to denounce kyiv as the main impediment of peace in Ukraine, as well as place a freezing in the military aid of the United States and some intelligence exchanges.
“The most important thing we have to leave here is a great feeling that Ukraine is prepared to do difficult things,” said Rubio on Monday before the conversations.
Zelenskyy has emphasized its preparation for peace, although it has repeatedly warned that any agreement must guarantee deterrence against future Russian aggression. On Monday, Zelenskyy, who did not participate in Tuesday’s conversations, traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet with the heir prince and the de facto ruler Mohammed Bin Salman.

Zelenskyy said he had a “detailed discussion” with Salman in “the steps and conditions necessary to end war and ensure reliable and lasting peace”, in a publication on social networks after the two leaders gathered.
“I emphasized the issue of the release of prisoners and the return of our children, which could become a key step to generate confidence in diplomatic efforts. An important part of the discussion was dedicated to the formats of security guarantees,” said Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy said that a Ukrainian delegation “will remain” in the country to “work with the American team” on Tuesday. Zelenskyy said he expects “practical results” of the US Uu Ukraine meeting. “The position of Ukraine in these conversations will be completely constructive,” he said before Tuesday’s conversations.

“The team is in the place,” Yermak wrote on Telegram on Tuesday morning. “Preparing to work. Protecting Ukrainian interests, a clear vision of the end of the war, we will work effectively with our US partners.”
The Trump administration is pressing kyiv to make concessions in search of a peace agreement to end Russia’s invasion. The White House also wants Ukraine to sign a controversial mineral exchange agreement that Trump has framed as a way of recovering tens of billions of American aid sent to Ukraine since 2022.
Rubio has said that the Russians “will also have to do difficult things”, although Trump and his senior officials have not said what concessions he can be asked to do to Moscow. American and Russian negotiators met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last month.
Before Tuesday’s conversations, a source close to Zelenskyy confirmed to ABC News that Ukraine was going to propose the partial fire that would apply to air attacks and long -range air attacks at sea.
“We want to propose the partial fire that can be monitored and then see how the Russians respond to determine the next steps,” added the source.

Rubio said Tuesday that minerals deal with Ukraine “was not the issue of our conversations today,” but Trump and Zelenskyy will work “to bring to the purpose the signing of the agreement.”
The joint declaration on the conversations published by the United States and Ukraine said that “the presidents of both countries agreed to conclude as soon as possible an integral agreement to develop the critical mineral resources of Ukraine to expand the economy of Ukraine and guarantee the prosperity and long -term security of Ukraine.”
The conversations began hours after Ukraine launched his greatest attack of war drones to Russia. The Russian authorities said the defense forces demolished 337 drones during the night until Tuesday, including 91 over Moscow. At least two people died and eight injured in the capital, said Governor Andrei Vorobyov.
When asked Tuesday morning, if the Ukrainian strikes intended to interrupt the high fire conversations, breach, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists: “There are still no negotiations. Therefore, Americans, in their own words, are trying to understand how Ukraine is ready for peace conversations.
