Russia, Ukraine exchanges drone attacks after Trump rebukes leaders

London – Russia and Ukraine continued the attacks of cross -border drones long -range on Sunday night until Monday morning, despite the criticism of President Donald Trump to Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the last sign of Trump’s frustration for his inability to close Moscow’s invasion of his neighbor.

Ukrainian officials said air defenses hired objectives throughout the country, even in the capital, kyiv, where damage to buildings were reported.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said its forces knocked down 108 drones in 12 regions during the night.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Counter-Disympration Center that operates as part of the Ukraine National Security and Defense Council, said that “unknown drones” attacked the city of Yelabuga in the Republic of Tatarstan of Russia, more than 500 miles east of Moscow and about 740 miles of the closest territory of Ukrina.

The objective was an installation that produced the Shahed Strike drones designed by Russia, Kovalenko, Kovalenko said.

Other drones attacked “a chemical company” in the Ivanovo region, about 150 miles northeast from Moscow, he added. The installation “creates components for Russian equipment and weapons, including missiles,” said Kalenko.

The nearby cross -border attacks have become a prominent characteristic of the Russian war in Ukraine, now more than three years with few signs of an imminent high fire or the peace agreement. The last months have seen bombings grow.

On Saturday night until Sunday, for example, Russia launched what Ukrainian officials described as their greatest air attack in the war. The assault included 367 drones and missiles and killed at least 18 people, authorities said.

The attack led Trump to rebuke Putin while talking to journalists and then on social networks.

“I’m not happy with what Putin is doing,” said the president. “He’s killing many people, and I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin. I have known him for a long time. He always took me well, but he is sending rockets to cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all.”

Trump reiterated his close relationship with Putin, but suggested that “something has happened” that has made it “crazy.”

“I have always said that all Ukraine wants, not just a piece of it, and maybe that is demonstrating to be correct, but it will lead to the fall of Russia!” Trump wrote in Truth Social.

Trump also attacked Zelenskyy, who has repeatedly framed as an impediment to a negotiated peace agreement in the United States. “Similarly, President Zelenskyy is not favoring his country when he speaks as he does,” Trump wrote.

“Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it and it’s better to stop,” Trump continued.

Zelenskyy and his officials have cited the continuous mass attacks of Russia as evidence that Moscow is not genuine in their public calls for peace.

Ukrainian leaders have repeatedly appealed to Trump to impose new and harder sanctions on Moscow to boost Kremlin to degrade their maximalist war objectives. Those include the annexation of stripes of Ukrainian territory, Ukrainian demilitarization and a permanent block in the adhesion of the country to NATO.

Ukrainian applications have not been answered so far, despite Trump’s threats to introduce new measures to press Putin in negotiations. Kyiv is pressing for a 30 -day fire during which peace conversations can take place. Russia has so far rejected the proposal.

After the last round of Russian attacks, Andriy Yermak, the head of the Zelenskyy presidential office, wrote on Telegram on Monday morning: “Russia should accelerate the high fire, now Moscow is decreasing even with the discussion of proposals, without details, just delaying time.”

“Moscow can be accelerated with sanctions and weapons,” he added.
